I am crazy...
I am very much a person who doesn't do things half-assed. While growing up in the South Bay I surfed, and competed for about 6 years. I did quite well at the amatuer level, but didn't know what the future held for making a living at it when I got "older." The "new" (post-surfing) career has been successful, and brought us to the Chicago area. When I started running after moving here (had to find a new hobby), I trained for and ran the Chicago marathon. After a bit of time and a few more marathons I was getting bored with just running. My great friend (M.W.) in CA suggested I try triathlon. So I did...and I liked it. Now this year I am training for my first (and probably only) Ironman. The amount of time it takes to train is CRAZY! I enjoy the "form" I have, but is it worth it? I don't believe I will do another one, since it's hard on your family.... September 10 is the big day.
